In November 2000, Mauritius Telecom entered into a strategic partnership with France Telecom, one of the world’s leading telecommunications carriers.

In 2006, France Telecom announced its intention to make Orange its single commercial brand for Internet, television, mobile and all other digital activities. France Telecom now serves more than 161 million customers around the world. The revenue of the group for the same year was €51.7 billion. France Telecom is the third largest mobile operator and the first provider of ADSL Internet access in Europe, and a world leader in telecommunications for multinational corporations.

The technological and global strength of France Telecom complements the local and regional experience of Mauritius Telecom to strengthen MT’s market position in the national liberalised telecommunication sector. The support of France Telecom has been very important in the roll-out of My.T, Mauritius Telecom’s Multiplay-IPTV services.
