Frame Relay is a point to multipoint service based on the Frame Relay technology used for carrying data traffic. It is the solution for enterprise to transfer medium to large volumes of information at high speeds (64Kbps up to 2Mbps) between their different sites.

The Frame Relay service is provided over the whole island, depending on the availability of the network infrastructure and can be provided up to 7km from the exchange.

High speeds Frame Relay links can be provided at speeds of up to 2Mbps.
Bandwidth Flexibility
Permanent Virtual Circuit (PVC) with a Committed Information rate (CIR) is created between two sites. Traffic is allowed to burst above this CIR level during peaks. This allows you to dimension their network based on normal traffic patterns, not for peak transmission.
Point-to-Multipoint
A single line can accommodate links to several sites at the same time. This reduces the number of customer premises equipment required.
High Quality of Service & Availability
Mauritius Telecom can propose an availability of 99% over the whole network, and a repair start guarantee of 8hrs as standard service.
Service Level Agreement
Mauritius Telecom can also propose a higher level of service level in the form of a Service Level Agreement.
We also propose customers who use Frame Relay for mission-critical applications back-up solutions. This is usually based on ISDN back-up, but we can also propose a network topology which caters for failure of one or more links.
