MT’s Integrated Services Digital Network, DIGILINE, is a fully digital network access service that can integrate voice and data over a standard telephone line. MT offers two types of ISDN lines: Basic Rate and Primary Rate Access lines.

The Basic Rate Access line provides for 2 communication channels (each at 64 Kbps) simultaneously. Users can thus have two simultaneous communications simultaneously (voice and fax, data and fax, data and voice), or use both channels for the same data application, for example, Internet Access or Data Transfer at 128 Kbps depending on modem performance.
The Basic Rate Access line is used mainly for Small and Medium Enterprises and Residentials whereas the Primary Rate Access line is used for large enterprises.
Typical setup for BRA lines includes customers who have immediate requirement of two or more communication channels. Small enterprises usually use ISDN BRA to connect to PABX systems to enjoy the following features :

ISDN PRA lines enable a maximum of 30 channels of simultaneous communication; it is mostly used by large enterprises for voice communications. These lines usually terminate into PABXs. These companies use the facilities provided by ISDN PRA lines extensively. The most used are DID (Direct Inward Dialling), Call Forwarding, Billing Information, etc.
Examples of users of Digiline PRA lines are hotels, insurance companies, banks, government, textile industries etc. These companies also benefit from the fact that PRA lines require only 1, 2 or 4 copper pairs to give 30 channels of communication instead of 30 copper pairs, hence a reduction in internal wiring.
A typical setup
ISDN integrates, over one line, two 64Kbps Circuit Switched Voice/Circuit Switched Data (CSV/CSD) bearer channels and one 16Kbps X.25 packet data D channel, which includes many data and call management features. Digiline follows the Euro ETSI standards.
